how often are you guys actually doing maintenance on your quads

genuine question because i feel like i either do way too much or way too little and cant figure out which. i fly maybe 3-4 packs a session a few times a week at the local field, mostly freestyle, nothing too crazy. right now my routine is basically check props before every flight, look over the frame for cracks maybe once a week, and replace motors when something feels off or after a bad crash. screws i retighten when i remember which is probably not often enough.

a guy at my field told me he pulls every screw and reloctites them every month and i honestly dont know if thats overkill or if im just being lazy. also do people actually replace props on a schedule or just when they chip or break? ive been running the same set for like 3 weeks on the same quad and they look fine but maybe theyre fatigued in ways i cant see.

monthly loctite is overkill unless youre running a lot more packs than that imo. i do mine every 3 months or if something feels looser than usual. props i replace when they chip or if i have a hard crash even if they look ok ? micro fractures are real and a prop letting go at full throttle is not a fun situation. 3 weeks of normal flying is probably fine though, use your judgement.

ok so maybe this is slightly off topic but your post made me realize ive literally never checked my motor screws since i built my current quad like 6 months ago and now im kind of stressed about it lol. going to go do that tonight. for what its worth i do wipe my motors down after muddy or dusty sessions because i fly at a pretty dirty spot and i feel like that at least keeps the bearings happier longer. not sure if thats actually doing anything or just makes me feel better.
