so ive been flying my DJI FPV for about 4 months now and lately its been doing this thing where it randomly drops out of manual mode and goes into normal mode on its own. doesnt happen every flight but its happened like 3 times now and once almost put it into a tree because i wasnt expecting the sudden braking behavior kicking in

my goggles are on firmware 01.00.0600 and the drone itself i updated like two weeks ago. controller is the motion controller, not the standard one ? i wonder if thats part of it. havent touched any of the mode settings in the app that i know of

anyone seen this before or know what might cause it? gets a little sketchy when youre doing low passes and the thing suddenly decides to slam the brakes

yeah i had something similar happen maybe 6 months back. for me it turned out to be a weak signal situation ? when the goggles lose signal even briefly the drone falls back to normal mode as a safety thing. i was flying near some trees and didnt really think about it at the time but once i started checking my signal strength it made way more sense. worth looking at your flight logs in the DJI app and checking if there are any signal drops right before the mode switch happens

also if youre on the motion controller i honestly dont trust it for manual mode anyway, switched to the standard RC and most of my weirdness went away

not sure about the mode thing specifically but i did notice after one of the recent firmware updates my FPV drone started behaving differently in terms of how aggressive the obstacle avoidance felt. might be worth checking if there's a setting in the fly app that got reset during the update. sometimes updates touch stuff you didn't expect
