so i was reading through some stuff last night and apparently the FAA is looking at revising some of the remote ID requirements, specifically around broadcast modules for older aircraft. cant find the original source again but it was on one of the aviation news sites. anyone else heard anything about this or know whats actually happening with it? im still flying my mavic air 2 with the add-on module and honestly the whole thing has been kind of a pain to deal with so if theyre changing anything i want to know before i go buy another module for my second bird.

also separately ? did anyone catch the DJI announcement earlier this week? looked like they were teasing something new but i couldnt tell if it was a mini series thing or something in the enterprise line. the video they posted was super vague.

yeah i saw the DJI thing too, most people in the comments were guessing its related to the mini 4 pro successor but honestly DJI does this teaser thing every few months and half the time its not what anyone expects. i'd hold off getting excited until theres actual specs.

on the remote ID stuff ? i heard through the grapevine that the FAA was getting a lot of pushback from recreational fliers about the module requirement for pre-2020 drones. makes sense because those modules are not exactly cheap and the implementation has been clunky at best. wouldnt surprise me if they revisit it but i wouldnt count on anything changing fast, the FAA moves at its own pace as we all know
