DJI Mini 3 Pro Motor Overheating at High Altitude - ESC Timing Issue?

  • Members

Flying my Mini 3 Pro at 8,000ft elevation and experiencing frequent motor overheating shutdowns after 15-20 minutes. All four motors get hot simultaneously, not just one, which suggests it's not a mechanical bearing issue. I've checked props (balanced, no damage) and battery voltage remains stable throughout flight.

Could this be an ESC timing problem at thin air density? Aggressive throttle inputs or operating consistently near maximum current can gradually degrade ESC components, and timing errors are usually the root cause of motor issues. Anyone experienced similar issues with sustained high-throttle operation in low air density?
