so ive been flying my mini 3 pro for about 6 months now and i'm still just using the little sleeve thing it came with which is honestly kind of garbage. dropped my bag once and my heart stopped. nothing broke thankfully but i really need something proper before i take it on a trip next month.

been looking at the dji fly more bag thing but it seems overpriced for what it is honestly. i saw some people using pelican cases which looks super secure but also like... overkill? i just want something that fits the drone plus a couple batteries and maybe my nd filters without being a huge heavy brick in my bag.

whats everyone actually using day to day, not the fancy travel setup just normal going out to fly stuff

honestly i went through like three different cases before settling on one and the answer kind of depends on how rough you are with your gear. i use a tomcase hardshell for day trips, fits everything snugly and has survived some pretty sketchy hikes. the foam cutouts are decent out of the box but i did some minor trimming to fit my extra batteries better.

if you're flying regularly and not checking it as luggage i wouldnt bother with a pelican, they're great but you're right that they're overkill unless you're doing serious travel or shipping gear. the dji bag is fine but you're paying for the logo imo. third party stuff is 90% as good for half the price most of the time.

i just use a regular padded camera insert inside my backpack, one of those velcro divider things. works fine, maybe not as protective as a hard case but i can fit everything in my normal daypack which i like. filters go in a little zipper pouch on the side.
