this has been driving me crazy for the past few weeks. im flying my Mini 3 (non-pro) and the controller just randomly drops signal for a second or two then reconnects. it happens at different distances, sometimes at like 80 meters, sometimes further. doesn't seem to be a consistent range issue.

at first i thought it was my phone because im using a pretty old samsung but ive since tried it on my partners iphone and same thing. the DJI Fly app shows the disconnection briefly then comes back. drone seems to just hover in place when it happens which is fine i guess but its obviously not great espicially near anything.

i updated the firmware on everything last week. live in a suburban area so there is definitely some wifi interference but this seems worse than normal interference should cause? or maybe im wrong about that. anyone dealt with this

The RC-N1 uses your phone as part of the signal chain which makes it more susceptible to interference than the dedicated RC controllers. Suburban areas with dense wifi on 2.4GHz can absolutely cause what you're describing. One thing worth trying ? go into the DJI Fly app settings and make sure the transmission channel is set to auto, sometimes it gets stuck on a congested channel. Also check if there's a 5.8GHz option in your transmission settings and switch to that if available, it cuts through suburban wifi noise a lot better even if the range is slightly shorter.

Also and this might sound dumb but make sure your phone's wifi is actually turned off before flying, not just disconnected from a network but actually toggled off. The phone scanning for networks in the background can interfere with the OcuSync signal more than people realize.

had the exact same issue with my mini 3, turned out the usb cable connecting the phone to the controller was slightly loose and flexing during flight. swapped it for a shorter, stiffer cable and the random drops basically stopped. might not be your issue but worth checking before you go down the interference rabbit hole
