my quad just feels dead doing rolls, what am i missing with the tune

so ive been trying to get my 5inch dialed in for freestyle for like two weeks now and the rolls just feel slow and mushy. not snappy at all. im running betaflight 4.4 and honestly i just copied a tune from youtube and called it a day but something feels off. the flips are ok but rolls specifically feel like the quad doesnt want to commit, if that makes sense. rates are probably part of it but i feel like its more the pid side. anyone dealt with this

yeah rolls feeling mushy is almost always a P term issue on roll axis specifically, its weird how roll and pitch can feel completely different even with the same numbers. try bumping P on roll up like 5-10 points at a time and see if it sharpens up. also check your master multiplier isnt tanking everything. what motors you running btw, underpowered motors will also make rolls feel lazy no matter what you do to the pids

rates man. seriously before you go messing with pids just crank your roll rate up a bit and see if thats all it is. i spent like three days tweaking pids once and turns out i just had slow rates the whole time lol. felt real dumb about it
