first time landing a split s consistently and i cant stop doing them

ok so this is kind of a flying story i guess. been flying freestyle for maybe 6 months and split s always felt sketchy to me, kept either pulling too early or just nose diving into nothing and panicking. went out yesterday with a freshly charged 6s and i dont know something just clicked. hit like 8 or 9 in a row clean off the tops of trees. the feeling when it comes out smooth at the bottom is honestly hard to describe. anyway if anyone here is struggling with it the thing that helped me was committing earlier than you think you need to and trusting the quad to come around. also helps to do it off something with actual height so you have room to bail

split s off trees is so satisfying when it works. wait til you start chaining them with a dive into a gap, thats the next level of that same feeling. nice one though, 6 months in and getting those consistently is pretty solid progress tbh

the commiting earlier thing is real. i think most people flare too late because they're scared and that just makes it worse. also what props are you on, i found my split s got way cleaner when i went from 5.1 to 5.0 pitch, quad just responds quicker in that pulling phase
