mini 3 pro vs air 3 ? is the price difference actually worth it for a casual flyer

  • Members

so ive been going back and forth on this for like two weeks now and i cant make up my mind. currently flying a mini 2 which has been great but im ready to upgrade. the mini 3 pro seems like the obvious next step but then i keep reading about how much better the air 3 is for the dual cameras and the longer flight time and it's got me second guessing everything.

i mostly fly on weekends, some travel, occasional family stuff. i dont do anything super serious, no paid work or anything. budget isnt unlimited but i could stretch to the air 3 if it's genuinely that much better. anyone been in this situation or have both? trying to figure out if the extra like $400 or whatever it is actually shows up in real life use or if im just gonna notice it once and then forget about it

had the mini 3 pro for about 8 months before my buddy let me fly his air 3 and honestly... yeah the dual camera thing is more useful than i expected. the 3x tele on the air 3 is genuinely nice for getting shots without repositioning constantly. that said if youre mostly doing family travel stuff the mini 3 pro is no slouch and the weight advantage is real when youre trying to pack light. i fly in europe sometimes and being under 249g still matters depending on where you go.

if money wasnt a thing id say air 3 no question but for casual weekend use the mini 3 pro is honestly plenty. i dont think youd feel like you made a mistake with either one

I went through this exact debate lol ended up getting the Air 3 and I don't regret it but truthfully the main thing I use over my old mini is the battery life, the mini 3 pro batteries felt short to me. The second camera is cool but I maybe use it 20% of the time if that. So depends what bugs you most about your current setup I guess
