so theres a fly-in happening about 40 mins from me next month and ive never been to one of these before. not sure what to expect honestly. do people just show up and fly or is there like a schedule and stuff? also wondering if its weird to go alone, i dont really know anyone else who flies

dude just go, seriously. i was nervous about my first one too and it ended up being one of the best days ive had with this hobby. most people are super chill and happy to talk gear for hours. yeah there's usually some kind of loose schedule, maybe a raffle or a group flight at a certain time but honestly its mostly just people hanging out and flying. nobody cares if you show up solo, half the people there came alone

what kind of fly-in is it, like fixed wing or multi rotor focused? makes a difference in what to bring. some of them are pretty specific about the field rules too so worth checking the event page if there is one
