so we had about 8 or 9 people show up for our monthly group fly yesterday and it started out great, weather was perfect, everyones birds were behaving. then around like the third hour someone who shall remain nameless decided to hotdog it low over the treeline and clipped a branch. quad went straight down into some tall grass and we spent 45 mins looking for it. found it eventually, motor bell cracked but otherwise okay. the funniest part was this guy had been talking all morning about how dialed in his rates were lmao. anyway still a good day overall just a reminder that even experienced pilots do dumb stuff when theyre showing off

haha classic. ive seen this happen so many times at group flights. something about flying in front of people just makes people push harder than they normally would. glad they found it tho, lost a quad in tall grass once and never saw it again
