ok so this just happened yesterday coming back from portugal. they pulled my bag at security and the guy had literally no idea what a lipo battery was, spent about 15 minutes going back and forth with his supervisor. eventually fine but i missed my boarding window and had to run. i had everything in the carry on like youre supposed to, batteries out of the drone, all that. just annoying that the rules say one thing and then the actual airport staff dont know them. anyway just venting i guess, anyone else had this happen

happens more than people think. i started printing out the IATA dangerous goods rules for lithium batteries and keeping it folded in my bag. pulled it out once at an airport in thailand and the supervisor actually backed down immediately when he saw it was an official document. takes 2 minutes to print and has saved me a headache more than once

ugh portugal was fine for me but spain was a nightmare, diferent airport different rules apparently. honestly the inconsistency is the worst part, you do everything right and it still depends on which security person pulls your bag that day
