so i binned my 5inch pretty hard last weekend, hit a tree at maybe 60% throttle and two motors took the hit. M2 and M3 were both grinding when i spun them by hand, M2 had a visibly bent shaft so that one was obvious. replaced both with the same motors i had on there before, 2306 2450kv, same brand everything. reflashed the ESC just to be safe.

thing is it flies but something feels slightly off. hard to describe but the authority in rolls feels a little uneven, like the left side responds quicker. could be my head playing tricks on me but ive been flying this frame for like 8 months and i know how it should feel. ran motor direction check in betaflight and everythings correct. gyro looks fine on the blackbox, no obvious noise spikes on the replaced motors.

did i maybe get a bad motor from the batch? or should i be looking at the frame itself, maybe the arm took some flex damage i cant see? genuinely not sure where to start here.

check the motor screws first honestly. sounds obvious but after a crash sometimes one arm takes a hit and the motor mount holes get slightly oval-ed out so the motor isnt sitting 100% flush. i had something similar last year, felt like the roll response was weird, turned out one motor had like a degree or two of cant to it because the standoff was cracked underneath. pulled the arm off and you could see it once you knew what to look for.

also worth doing a motors tab test in betaflight with props off and just watch the rpms at the same throttle input for each motor. if one of the new ones is pulling more amps to hit the same speed thats usually a sign its either wound slightly differently or theres a bearing issue already. bad motors from the batch happen more than people admit especially if you ordered from aliexpress stock.

might just be a pid tune thing? i feel like whenever i swap motors even same spec my rates feel different until i retune. probably not the full answer but id at least run autotune or tweak your p gains on roll before assuming hardwares the issue
