so ive had my drone for about two weeks now and every time i hover and let the sticks go it slowly drifts to one side, usually to the left and a little forward. i've seen videos where people let go and it just stays perfectly still. mine doesn't do that. not sure if its a calibration thing or if there's wind i'm not noticing or what. i'm flying a holy stone HS720 if that matters. googled it but got a bunch of results that didnt really answer my question

calibrate the IMU and compass, thats almost always the first thing to try when you get drift like that. most drones have this in the app or the settings menu somewhere. also do it away from metal structures and cars because that stuff messes with the compass calibration and you'll just end up with the same problem. if you've already done that it might just be wind ? even a very light breeze will push those mid-range drones around more than people expect because the GPS hold isn't as tight as on more expensive stuff

honestly some amount of drift on a drone in that price range is just kind of... expected? like the GPS positioning on budget drones isnt super precise, it can wander a meter or two even in ideal conditions. doesnt mean something is wrong necessarily. that said yeah try the compass cal first like the other guy said. also make sure you're not flying near wifi routers or powerlines, that can throw off the GPS lock and make it behave weird
