This has been bugging me for a while now. Running the Mavic 3 Classic with the RC2 and I keep getting signal warnings at distances that feel way too short. Like im talking maybe 800 meters on a clear day with nothing in between me and the drone, no towers nearby that i know of, and the thing is already showing weak signal and starting to return to home.

Checked the antennas, they're oriented correctly. Did a calibration. Firmware is current as of last week. I've seen people get 5-6km with this setup which i obviously dont need but 800m feels wrong. Wondering if i got a bad unit or if there's something obvious im missing. Haven't tried swapping to a different controller yet because i dont have one to test with.

What channel mode is it set to? If it's on CE instead of FCC that'll kill your range significantly. Worth checking in the DJI Fly app under transmission settings. In the US you can use FCC legally and the difference is pretty noticeable. Also sometimes there's more RF interference around than you'd think ? wifi from nearby neighborhoods, other devices. Try it somewhere genuinely open if you haven't already, like a big park or field away from houses.

had a similar issue with my RC-N1 a while back and it turned out one of the antenna connections inside was loose from a drop i'd basically forgotten about. might be worth contacting DJI support if the CE/FCC thing doesnt fix it, they were actually pretty decent about replacing my controller after i sent them the flight logs showing the signal droppping
