this has been bugging me for a while and im not sure if its my unit or something i'm doing wrong. Flying the EVO II Pro, usually within maybe 300-400 meters, nothing extreme, and it just drops the video feed and sometimes the controller link for a few seconds. It comes back but it's nerve wracking especially over water.

I updated the firmware last month and it seemed okay for a bit but its happening again. Signal interference maybe? Im flying near a pretty suburban area but i dont think theres anything crazy nearby. The RC and drone are fully charged when i go out so its not a battery thing i dont think.

Any ideas what to check? I really dont want to send it in because Autel support takes forever from what ive heard.

Check your RC antenna orientation first ? sounds obvious but people forget that the flat side of the antennas should be facing the drone, not pointing at it like a gun. Also try changing the video transmission channel in the app manually instead of leaving it on auto, sometimes auto just picks a terrible channel in busy RF environments and suburbs can be surprisingly noisy with all the wifi and 2.4ghz stuff floating around.

If youre on 2.4ghz try switching to 5.8 and see if that makes a difference. And yeah Autel support has improved a bit but its still not the fastest, so worth exhausting the software and settings stuff first before going that route.

I had something simillar with mine a while back and it turned out to be a loose connection on the RC itself. Nothing dramatic, just worked it out by doing a full re-bind and recalibration of everything. Probably not your issue but worth trying before anything else since it takes like 10 minutes. Also make sure your phone isnt the bottleneck ? older phones can cause the feed to stutter in a way that feels like a real disconnect but its actually just the display lagging.
