DJI FPV drone keeps entering atti mode randomly mid flight, anyone else had this

this has been bugging me for a while and i finally decided to post about it. flying the DJI FPV (original, not Avata) and probably three or four times now it's just dropped into attitude mode completely out of nowhere. not near any obvious interference sources, not doing anything crazy, just cruising in normal or sport mode and suddenly it switches. it does warn you before it happens but theres barely any time to react especially if youre in sport mode already moving fast.

ive checked the obvious stuff, compass calibration is fine, firmware is current, home point sets correctly every time. battery is healthy according to the app. i fly mostly in a semi-rural area so its not like im next to a cell tower farm or anything. the signal strength looks totally fine in the goggles right before it happens too. i dont know if its a GPS thing or something else entirely. any ideas

had something similar happen twice. turned out my issue was GPS signal dropping momentarily even though the indicator showed enough sats ? apparently it needs a solid lock for a few seconds and if there's any brief dropout it'll kick to atti. what i started doing was waiting a bit longer after the home point confirms before takeoff, like giving it an extra 30-40 seconds so the lock really stabilizes. hasnt happened since but i cant say for sure thats what fixed it or if it was something else.

also worth checking if theres any metal near where you launch from. i was launching near an old chain link fence and i think that was causing some interference with the compass that was messing with the GPS confidence even if not the signal itself. annoying to diagnose because nothing shows as obviously wrong in the logs

check your flight logs in DJI Fly and look at the GPS satellite count and signal quality graph over the whole flight not just the moment it happens. sometimes youll see the count dip like 5-10 seconds before the atti switch and that'll tell you if its definitely a GPS thing. if the count looks totally stable right through then id be looking at compass interference or even a firmware bug. there was a version a while back that had some weird mode switching behavior, dont remember which one exactly
