cant get my rolls to stop wobbling at the end

  • Members

so ive been trying to clean up my rolls for like the past month and no matter what i do they always wobble right as i come out of the rotation. im on a 5inch running betaflight 4.4 and my rates feel fine for everything else, splits and dives feel smooth but rolls just look like garbage on the dvr. tried bumping iterm relax but honestly dont even know if im touching the right thing

anyone dealt with this or is it just a stick technique thing and i need to suck it up and practice more lol

usually when i see that it's either d_min being too low or iterm windup during the roll ? betaflight lets a ton of iterm build up mid-rotation and then it kind of snaps when you release. try dropping your iterm relax threshold a bit and see if that tightens it up. also what are your rc_smoothing settings because that can contribute to the snap feel too

but honestly yeah some of it is just technique, gotta commit fully to the roll and not babying the stick out of it

i had the exact same issue when i started doing rolls, turned out i was letting off the throttle too early coming out and it was causing a dip that looked like wobble. try keeping throttle more consistent through the whole maneuver and see if that changes anything before you go deep into the pid tuning rabbit hole
