client wants proof of insurance and i dont really know what to send them

got my first real corporate client ? a construction company that wants progress shots of a build every couple weeks ? and they asked for a certificate of insurance before they'll sign anything. i have a policy through Verifly but im not totally sure what they actually need or how to get them listed as an additional insured. do all policies even let you do that? mine might just be the basic liability one.

also kind of embarrassing but i quoted them a monthly rate without totally thinking it through and now i'm second guessing whether i covered my costs properly. i said $400/month for two visits, each one probably 45 min of actual flying plus drive time and editing a few selects. that feels low now that i think about it. construction clients are usually bigger budgets right? or am i wrong about that

anyway mainly need help with the insurance certificate thing, the pricing anxiety is a separate problem i guess

the certificate of insurance thing is pretty straightforward once you know what they mean ? they want a COI which is basically a one page document your insurer generates that shows your coverage limits and names them as an additional insured on the policy. not all policies include additional insured endorsements, the super cheap per-flight apps usually dont, so you may need to contact Verifly and ask specifically. if they cant do it you might need to look at a proper annual commercial policy, something like Coverhound or through a broker that specializes in UAV work. Global Aerospace and Thimble are ones ive heard people use for this exact situation.

on the pricing ? yeah $400 for two site visits including editing is pretty lean for construction. these clients typically have real budgets and care more about reliability and deliverables than getting the lowest price. id say $300-400 per visit is more in line, so closer to $700-800/month. if you already quoted $400 total you might be stuck for this contract but think about how you present it for renewal

construction clients are honestly some of the best recurring work you can get, they usually have long projects and need documentation regularly so once you're in you're in for months. had a similar situation with a general contractor last year and the COI thing tripped me up too. my insurer (not Verifly, i have an annual policy) was able to email the cert directly which was nice. definitely sort that part out before you show up to fly because some site managers wont even let you on site without seeing it first, learned that the slightly stressful way
