this has been bugging me for like two weeks now. motor 2 on my build stutters, not constantly, kind of randomly ? sometimes its fine for a whole pack and then suddenly starts doing it again. i already swapped out the ESC thinking that was the issue (it was a 4in1 so i replaced the whole thing) and its still happening on the same motor position.

the motor itself is pretty new, maybe 10 packs on it. i've reflashed blheli and played with the timing settings and nothing seems to make a difference. telemetry looks normal, no desync codes or anything obvious in the blackbox. running it on 4s, 35x35 stack, f7 fc.

starting to wonder if its the motor itself even though it looks fine. or could it be something with the FC? i dont really know where else to look at this point.

check your motor wires, specifically where they go through the frame or around any edges. i had almost exactly this problem and spent forever on it before i noticed one of the phase wires had a tiny nick in the insulation that was intermittently shorting when the quad flexed. drove me absolutely crazy because it was totally invisible unless you flexed the wire in exactly the right spot.

swap the motor to a different position and see if the problem follows it or stays on motor 2. if it follows the motor its the motor, if it stays on position 2 then you're looking at something in the wiring or the ESC pad itself even if you replaced the ESC. also check your solder joints on the new ESC where motor 2 connects, sometimes a cold joint looks totally fine visually but is making intermittent contact. ive been burned by that more than once.

if neither of those pan out, check your FC firmware version too, there were some weird ESC communication issues with certain blheli_32 firmware combos a while back that caused exactly this kind of random stuttering. not saying thats it but worth ruling out.
