finally got an EVO II Pro 6K and wow... some things i wasnt expecting

so i upgraded from a Mavic Air 2 about three weeks ago and honestly the EVO II Pro has been a mix of really impressive and kinda frustrating in ways i didnt anticipate. the image quality is genuinely stunning, like i shot some golden hour footage over the lake near my house and the dynamic range just blew me away compared to what i was used to. the 1-inch sensor really does make a difference especially in low light situations.

but here's the thing nobody really talks about ? the Autel Sky app is just... not great. it works, but compared to DJI Fly it feels clunky and sometimes i have to restart it before the drone even shows up as connected. had a mini heart attack my second flight when it just went grey for like 20 seconds before reconnecting. also the obstacle avoidance feels a little less confident than my old Mavic, hard to explain but it just doesnt feel as snappy.

anyway not complaining, overall im really happy with it. just wondering if anyone else went through this adjustment period and if theres tricks i should know about. also whats the best ND filter set people are using with this thing

yeah the app thing drove me crazy for the first month too. what helped me was making sure i always launch the app AFTER the drone is fully booted and the remote is connected, not before. sounds obvious but doing it in that order basically eliminated my connection issues. also make sure your phone isnt running a bunch of stuff in the background, the Sky app seems to be really sensitive to that for some reason.

for ND filters im using the Freewell set and honestly cant complain, good build quality and they fit nice and snug. some people go with PolarPro but theyre pricier and i wasnt sure i wanted to drop that much on my first set. the Freewells have been solid for maybe 40+ flights now with no issues.

the obstacle avoidance comment is interesting because i feel the same way and couldnt figure out how to describe it either. like it stops when it should but there's something about the behavior thats just different from DJI. not necessarily worse just... different i guess. you get used to it. the footage though is absolutely worth it imo
