thinking about switching from Autel to DJI, anyone made that jump

been flying the Autel Evo Lite+ for about a year and a half and overall its been fine but im starting to feel like i made the wrong call. the image quality is genuinely good and i dont have any complaints about the build but the app is just... not great. it crashes more than it should and the last firmware update actually made things worse with the controller latency. also just feels like Autel is always playing catch up feature wise

thinking about selling it and putting the money toward an Air 3 or maybe just waiting to see if anything new drops. has anyone actually switched from Autel to DJI and felt the difference day to day? not just specs but like the whole experience of using it. im also a bit nervous about the whole DJI data thing if im being honest but maybe im overthinking that part

made exactly this switch about 8 months ago, went from the Evo Nano+ to the Mini 4 Pro. honestly the biggest thing isnt even the drone itself its the DJI ecosystem ? the app is just so much more polished and the integration with the controller feels solid. updates actually fix things rather than breaking them which sounds like a low bar but apparently its not lol

the data privacy thing is worth reading about a bit but for most hobbyists its probably not a dealbreaker, theres also DJI Fly running in local mode if youre worried. my two cents ? if youre already frustrated with the software experience the switch will feel like a relief pretty quickly

i'd push back slightly on the idea that DJI is always ahead. the Evo II Pro has a 1 inch sensor at a price point where DJI cant really compete and Autels no geo-fencing policy is genuinely useful if you fly in areas that are technically restricted but you have permission for. that said if the app is actually crashing regularly thats a real problem and not something you should just accept, totally understand wanting out
