ok so ive crashed two drones already. first one was a cheap amazon thing like 40 bucks and the second one i thought i was being smarter and got something a little nicer but still ended up clipping a tree and snapping an arm off. i think i just need something more durable or maybe something with better obstacle avoidance? i dont even know if thats a real thing at the price range im looking at. around 300 maybe 400. its getting frustrating honestly because i actually really want to get into this hobby but its hard to stay motivated when you keep breaking stuff

obstacle avoidance at that price is pretty limited honestly, like the mini 3 has some downward sensors but its not gonna stop you from flying into a branch sideways. what actually helped me was using a sim first. Liftoff or even the free DJI flight simulator, just spend a few hours on that before you take anything outside and you'll notice a real difference. sounds boring but it genuinely works and you stop making the same panicky inputs that cause crashes

the arm snapping thing is usually fixable btw depending on what drone it was, some of them you can order replacement arms for like 10 dollars and snap them back in. not saying dont get a new one but might be worth looking up if you haven't already. also crashing trees is basically a rite of passage so dont feel too bad lol
