yeah this has been bugging me for a while and im kind of embarrassed to even post this but i failed the test again last week. first time i scored a 67 which is right below passing and this time i got a 65 which is worse somehow even though i studied more. i feel like i keep missing questions in areas i thought i had down. not sure if its the way im studying or if the questions are just different versions or whatever. been using one of those paid apps but maybe its not covering the right stuff. anyone else go through this and figure out what helped

that's rough man, dont give up though. one thing that helped me was actually reading through the FAA study guide pdf instead of just drilling practice questions, because sometimes those apps recycle the same question types and you end up memorizing answers instead of actually understanding the concepts. if you actually get why controlled airspace works the way it does you can answer questions you've never seen before instead of just pattern matching. also look at which categories you're missing, the test gives you a score breakdown after you fail so you can see if its weather, airspace, regulations etc. focus your time there not on stuff you already know

i wonder if test anxiety is part of it. going in the second time knowing you already failed once is rough and that messes with people more than they expect. the content isnt super deep but its broad and some of the wording on questions is deliberately confusing, like they'll describe a scenario in a roundabout way and you have to parse it carefully. slow down on each question and eliminate obviously wrong answers first. also some of those third party apps have outright errors in them which is a real problem, stick to prepware or the FAA practice tests if you can, those tend to be the most accurate to what actually shows up
