so this has been bugging me for a while and im not sure if its a defect or im just doing something wrong. picked up the Nano+ a few months back, love the size of it for hiking and travel, but im getting signal dropouts at what feels like way shorter range than it should have. like im talking maybe 800 feet sometimes less and it starts getting sketchy, occasionally goes into RTH which is annoying when im just doing a slow pan shot.

im in a pretty suburban area but ive tried flying at a local park away from obvious interference and still getting it. the controller antennas are positioned correctly as far as i can tell. running the latest firmware. dont have any other drones to compare it to so not sure if this is just how the Nano+ is or if somethings wrong with my unit specifically

the Nano series in general has a shorter effective range than what the spec sheet implies, i think the listed range is under ideal open field conditions with zero interference which basically never happens in the real world. that said 800 feet does sound a bit low even for suburban flying. one thing worth trying is going into the signal settings and switching between the 2.4 and 5.8ghz bands manually rather than leaving it on auto ? sometimes auto makes bad decisions and sticks on a congested channel. also make sure nothing on your phone is running in the background eating into the wifi/bluetooth stack, ive had random signal weirdness traced back to a navigation app running behind the Autel Sky app.

yeah honestly the Nano+ range is kind of its weak point, its a tradeoff for how small it is. i had similar frustrations early on. what phone are you using with it? i switched from an older Android to a newer one and it made a noticeable difference, not sure why exactly but someone here mentioned USB latency or somethign to do with how the app communicates through the cable. might be worth trying a different cable too if you havent, i was using a cheap one and swapping it out actually helped weirdly enough
