so ive been using litchi for like 3 years now and honestly its fine but ive been hearing a lot about dronelink lately and wondering if its actually worth the subscription cost. my main use is waypoint missions for the mini 3 pro, usually mapping agricultural land so precision matters a lot to me.

the thing that bugs me about litchi is the mission hub interface feels kind of dated and syncing between phone and tablet is still janky sometimes. had it fail to load a mission mid-field last month which was a whole thing. dronelink looks cleaner from the videos ive seen but i cant tell if thats just good marketing or if it actually performs better in the field.

anyone who has actually used both on real jobs please weigh in, not just people who tried the free tier once

switched from litchi to dronelink about 8 months ago and honestly havent looked back. the mission scripting in dronelink is on another level once you get your head around how it structures things ? took me maybe a week to stop thinking in litchi terms. the component system feels weird at first but its way more flexible for complex stuff.

for ag mapping though you might also want to look at DJI Terra if you havent already, especially if you're doing anything that needs proper orthomosaic output. dronelink is great for the flight execution side but the post-processing pipeline matters just as much for that kind of work. i run dronelink for capture and then WebODM on a local machine for processing and its a solid combo.

the sync issues with litchi drove me insane too. I ended up just keeping everything on one device and not bothering with the hub at all which kind of defeats the purpose. haven't tried dronelink but watching this thread
