just picked up a mini 4 pro last week, first drone ive ever owned. the amount of third party accessories on amazon is kind of overwhelming and i cant tell whats genuinely useful vs just stuff people buy and never use. already got the fly more combo so i have extra batteries and the bag.

mostly going to be flying outdoors, hiking trips, some beach stuff. not doing any professional video work just want decent footage for myself. do i need ND filters right away or can i figure that out later? also seen people talking about landing pads, are those actually necessary or is it just one of those things that looks cool but doesnt really matter

ND filters are 100% worth it and honestly i'd get them sooner rather than later. without them in bright sunlight your footage is going to look kind of stuttery because you have to crank the shutter speed way up to avoid overexposure. the 180 degree shutter rule is a real thing and NDs let you actually follow it. dont go crazy buying a huge set though, an ND8 and ND16 will cover most of what you need outdoors. i got the Freewell set for my mini 4 and they're fine, nothing fancy but they do the job.

landing pad is genuinely useful if youre launching from gravel or sand or anywhere thats not flat grass. got sand in my gimbal once from a beach launch and it was not a fun afternoon. now i always use it on anything that isnt clean pavement or short grass.

honestly for your first few weeks just fly it and figure out what annoys you before buying anything. i went crazy buying stuff when i got my first drone and half of it sat in a drawer. the extra batteries from the fly more combo will keep you busy enough. ND filters can wait until you feel like youre actually hitting a ceiling with the footage quality, youll know when you need them
