ok so this has been driving me insane for like two weeks. picked up a prebuilt off someone locally, think its an older iflight but honestly the sticker is half gone and im not 100% sure of the exact model. running betaflight 4.3 on it. flies fine in slower freestyle stuff but the second i punch into fast forward flight i get these mid-frequency oscillations on roll, you can see it in the blackbox and feel it in the sticks pretty clearly.

ive already brought P down on roll by like 15% from where it was and it didnt really change much. tried bumping D up a bit too. running stock filters still. someone in a discord told me to check my motor temps after a flight and two of them are noticeably hotter than the other two which seems bad but idk if thats related or a whole separate issue.

running 2306 motors, forget the exact kv, 6s setup. any ideas what im even looking for here

the motor temp thing is almost definitely related. uneven motor temps usually means one or two are working harder to compensate for something, could be a bent prop shaft, could be a bad motor bearing, could even be a slightly warped frame arm throwing off the motor angle. id start there before touching the tune anymore because youre basically trying to tune around a hardware problem which never ends well.

swap to fresh props first, its free and takes two minutes. if the temps even out after that then great, if not start wiggling each motor and feeling for any play in the bearings.

yeah what he said about the motors. also on the oscillations specifically -- on 4.3 make sure dynamic idle is actually set properly if the prev owner messed with it, ive seen weird mid throttle behavior come from that being off. also check if theres any RPM filter settings that got left in a weird state, prebuilts especially used ones sometimes have half-configured stuff from whoever tuned it before.

post the blackbox log if you can, the frequency peak will tell you a lot more than guessing at P and D values
