Complete newbie here - DJI Mini 4K vs Neo 2 for first drone?

Hey everyone! I've been watching drone videos for months and finally ready to take the plunge. I'm torn between the DJI Mini 4K and the newer Neo 2 as my first drone.

Budget is around $400-500. Main use will be weekend photography and learning to fly properly. I've read the Neo 2 has amazing obstacle avoidance which sounds perfect for a nervous beginner like me, but the Mini 4K seems more "traditional" for learning stick controls.

Any thoughts from people who've flown both? Really don't want to crash my first drone within a week! ??
