FPV drone stuttering in normal mode ? is this a goggles thing or the drone itself

  • Members

so ive been flying my DJI FPV for about 4 months now and lately ive been getting this weird micro-stutter in the video feed when im in N mode, like the image just hitches for half a second every now and then. doesnt seem to happen as much in sport mode which is weird. the drone itself flies fine as far as i can tell, no weird behavior, just the feed in the goggles looks off.

im running the v2 goggles and the RC motion controller, link is on channel 8 and im in a pretty open area so i dont think its interference. firmware is up to date on everything. anyone else seen this or know if its a known issue? starting to wonder if its the goggles cable or something on the transmission side.

had something similar a while back and it turned out to be the antenna positioning on the goggles. the way i had them folded was apparently causing some weird signal degradation even though the link quality indicator looked fine. try adjusting the antennas so theyre more perpendicular to the drone when youre hovering and see if it makes any difference. also worth checking if the coaxial connectors inside the goggle housing are seated properly, mine had worked itself a tiny bit loose after a lot of use.

the N mode thing is interesting though, i wonder if theres something with how it handles the feed processing at lower speeds vs sport. might be worth posting the flight logs to see if the video link quality dips correlate with the stutters.

not sure about the stutter specifically but i get occasional hitches too and always just assumed it was normal for the system. maybe it isnt lol. what's your transmission quality reading during those moments, can you check the OSD overlay?
