EVO II Pro keeps losing connection to the controller mid flight, anyone else dealt with this

so this has been happening for a while now and its getting kind of stressful honestly. ill be flying, everything looks fine, and then the feed just drops for like 3-5 seconds and then comes back. sometimes the drone just hovers and waits which is fine but twice now it started drifting a bit before signal came back and that freaked me out.

im running the latest firmware, i checked that already. controller batteries are always topped up before i fly. it doesnt seem to matter if im 50 meters out or 200 meters, the dropouts happen at kind of random distances. i fly mostly in suburban areas if that matters, theres definitely some wifi interference around but i wouldnt think that would be this bad.

havent called autel support yet because honestly their hold times have been rough from what ive heard but i might have to. just wondering if anyone has seen this and fixed it without having to send the unit in

had something similar a while back. turned out i was flying near a neighborhood with a ton of 2.4GHz overlap and switching the controller to 5.8GHz in the settings made a huge difference. its easy to miss that setting if you've never dug into it. also worth checking if there's any physical damage to the antennas on the controller, mine had a slightly loose connection at the base that i didn't notice until i really looked.

if neither of those help then yeah autel support is probably the next step, they can sometimes walk you through a full recalibration remotely that resets things you cant access normally. pain to get them on the phone but once i did they were actually pretty helpful.

what version of the Autel Sky app are you on? there was a stretch where one of the app updates made connectivity way worse for a bunch of people and the fix was actually rolling back to an older apk until they patched it. might be worth checking the autel forum or their facebook group because people tracked that issue pretty closely and someone put together a list of stable versions
