thinking about upgrading from my mini 3 to an EVO II Pro ? anyone made that switch?

been flying DJI stuff for a couple years, got the Mini 3 right now and honestly its great but im starting to feel limited by the sensor size when shooting in lower light. a buddy of mine wont stop talking about his EVO II Pro and how the 1 inch sensor changed everything for him. ive watched probably a dozen youtube comparisons and they all kind of say different things depending on who made the video so im not sure how much to trust them.

main things i care about are image quality obviously, reliability since im starting to do some paid work here and there, and how the autel software compares to dji fly because ive gotten pretty used to that interface. also not sure how the obstacle avoidance stacks up, i fly in some tighter spots sometimes. anyone whos actually used both have thoughts? not trying to start a brand war just genuinely curious

Made that exact switch about a year and a half ago and honestly dont regret it. The image quality difference is real, especially anything after golden hour ? the Autel just handles noise way better than the Mini 3. The Autel Sky app took me maybe a week to feel comfortable in, its not as polished as DJI Fly but its totally usable and Autel actually pushes updates that fix real things instead of just changing the UI for no reason lol.

Obstacle avoidance on the EVO II is decent but id say dont trust it in tight spots the same way you might have learned to trust DJIs system, just fly a little more conservatively until you learn how it reads the environment. For paid work its been totally solid for me, not a single crash or weird flyaway in 18 months.

the evo ii pro is a good camera drone but the thing people dont mention enough is how much heavier it is compared to the mini 3, which matters if you're ever doing longer hikes to get to a spot. also depending on where you do paid work you might already be in the weight category that needs registration anyway so maybe less of a concern. image wise yeah the 1 inch sensor is noticeably better in tricky light, thats not hype.
