okay so ive been flying whoops for about a year and finally decided to do a proper 5inch freestyle build. got a Fyuda frame (the 227 one) and im trying to figure out if my motor and ESC combo makes sense before i buy everything and regret it.

motors im looking at are the T-Motor F40 Pro IV 2306 1750kv, running on 6S. ESC was going to be a Mamba F55 AIO or maybe just a 4in1 55amp stack. someone on reddit said 55A is overkill for freestyle but i genuinely dont know. like are they going to cook if i go full throttle for extended periods or is that just not how it works with modern ESCs

also havent soldered in like two years so im kind of dreading the battery lead situation on a 4in1. any tips there would actually be helpful, last time i did thick gauge wire i ended up with cold joints that i didnt notice until the thing cut out mid flight

55A on 6S with those motors is totally fine, that combo is pretty standard honestly. the F40s dont pull anywhere near 55 continuous even in a pretty aggressive freestyle session, the ESC will just run cooler which is a good thing. dont let reddit talk you out of headroom on ESCs.

for the soldering thing ? thick gauge like 12awg or 10awg for the battery lead, get your iron up to like 380-400C, tin both the pad and the wire separately before you join them. a lot of people try to rush it and either dont let the pad heat up enough or they pull away too fast. give it a second after you remove the iron before you move anything. cold joints on battery leads are genuinely scary so worth taking your time there.

just did almost the same build a few months ago, different frame but same motor spec range. one thing i'd say is check the Fyuda 227 mounting pattern against whatever AIO you buy because i had a stack that technically fit but the uarts were in a terrible spot and i spent forever rerouting stuff. probably obvious but i didnt check and it annoyed me for weeks
