so ive been wanting to get into drones for like two years now and i keep going back and forth on what to buy. theres so many options and every time i think ive made a decision i read something that changes my mind. my budget is around 300 dollars maybe a little more if its worth it. i dont really know what im doing yet, i just want something i can fly around outside and maybe get some decent video of like nature trails and stuff near my house. i dont want to crash it immediately and waste money. someone at work told me to just get a DJI but i dont know which one and honestly even those have like 10 versions now. any advice would be appreciated, trying not to overthink this but i kind of am

honestly for that budget the DJI Mini 2 SE is probably the move if you can find it on sale, or stretch just a bit for the Mini 3 if you want the vertical shooting. the Mini series is great for beginners because its really stable in the air and the app walks you through most of it. i started on something way worse and wasted so much time fighting the thing just to hover. with a Mini you can actually focus on learning to fly instead of fighting the drone. just register it with the FAA before you fly, people forget that and then get nervous about it later.

im in basically the same situation lol so watching this thread. i looked at the Holy Stone HS720 too because its cheaper but idk if the video is any good compared to DJI. someone on youtube said its fine for beginners but the wind resistance is pretty bad? not sure if thats true
