so ive been seeing posts about a fly-in at Prado dry lake bed this saturday and im trying to figure out if its worth the drive. last time i went to one of these things it was like 6 people standing around in the heat and nobody really talked to each other lol. but a buddy said this one is supposed to be bigger, someone mentioned like 50+ pilots showing up which would be pretty cool actually.

anyone here going or been to one of these before? also not sure if i should bring the mini 4 pro or drag out the 5 inch freestyle build. probably the freestyle stuff is more fun to watch but the mini is way less hassle to transport

i was at the one back in march and it was actually decent, way more people than i expected. there were a few guys running long range stuff and one dude had an absolute beast of a fixed wing that kept everyone watching for like an hour. bring the freestyle build for sure, nobody wants to watch a mini 4 pro doing slow panorama shots lol no offense

Prado ones are usually hit or miss depending on wind. If you go early morning its generally fine but by noon it can get pretty gusty out there. I'd say go, worst case you fly for an hour and head home, best case you meet some people who actually know what they're talking about and maybe get some tips on your builds.
