my quad just wont stop oscillating on hard snap rolls, what am i missing

so ive been trying to dial in my 5inch for freestyle for like 3 weeks now and i cant get the snap rolls to feel clean. its like the quad overshoots and then wobbles at the end of every roll. ive bumped d term up a bit and that helped a little but now it feels sluggish on the throttle response. running betaflight 4.4 and motors are around 2400kv if that matters. not sure if its a filtering issue or just my rates being weird or what. been watching mr steele videos trying to copy his tune but maybe thats just not a good starting point for my setup lol

your d term chase is probably making it worse honestly. snap rolls oscillating at the end is almost always a P term thats too high for the weight of your build. what props are you running and whats the actual weight? also check if dynamic idle is set, if its too low the motors are basically browning out at the end of the maneuver and the oscillation youre seeing might not even be a pid issue

had the exact same thing on my builds when i first started tuning. i just used the betaflight presets and tweaked from there instead of copying someone elses numbers, way easier starting point. mr steele tune works for his specific quad and how he flies so it prob wont translate directly
