okay so i was doing a job for a buddy who runs a small architecture firm and he wanted some rooftop shots of this building downtown. nothing too complicated, just wanted clean angles showing off the design. i went in thinking itd be easy, like point and shoot basically.

but the wind up there was really pushing the bird around and i kept getting this slight wobble in the stills that i didn't notice until i got home and looked at them on a big screen. some were fine but maybe a third of the batch had this kind of motion softness around the edges. ended up using maybe half of what i shot which felt embarassing honestly. is this a shutter speed thing or am i just not correcting for wind properly when i take the shot

shutter speed for sure. in wind youre fighting two things, the physical movement and the camera trying to compensate. i usually bump my shutter up higher than i think i need for architectural stills, like even in decent light ill go faster just to freeze any micro movement. what were you shooting at?

ive had the same issue and honestly some of it is just the drone itself fighting the wind and never fully settling. i started taking like 3 shots per angle instead of one and theres almost always one clean one in the bunch. bit wasteful but beats going back for a reshoot
