so ive been trying to nail split S's for like two weeks now and something is just off. the roll feels fine going in but then it like... drifts? and i end up facing totally the wrong direction when i pull out. using betaflight 4.4 and i messed with the rates a bit last weekend but nothing crazy.

been flying freestyle for maybe 8 months, not totally new but definitely not good lol. anyone run into this or is this just a me problem with my inputs

yeah that sounds like a rates thing honestly. if your roll rate is way higher than your pitch you're gonna get that weird drift feeling because youre not finishing the roll before you start pulling. try slowing the roll down a bit or bump up your pitch expo a little and see if it evens out. also could just be you're initiating the pull too early, hard to say without seeing footage

i had the exact same problem for forever and it turned out i just wasnt committing to the roll lol. like i was doing this half-hearted input and then panicking and pulling. fly higher and actually commit, gave me way more time to figure out the timing
