so ive been going back and forth on this for a couple weeks now and cant really find a straight answer anywhere. i've got the tinyhawk 2 freestyle right now and honestly its fine but the motors are starting to sound a bit rough and i figured id just grab something newer instead of rebuilding it.

the crux3 is like $40-50 more depending where you look and i know it flies better on paper but is it actually noticeable day to day or is that just spec sheet stuff. im mostly flying in my backyard and occasionally hitting a small abandoned warehouse nearby, nothing crazy technical. i dont race or anything just freestyle and cruising around.

also curious if either of them needs much tuning out of the box because i really dont want to spend a weekend in betaflight trying to get rid of prop wash if i dont have to. had that whole situation with my old quad and it was not fun.

had both at the same time actually. the crux3 is noticeably punchier which honestly matters more than i expected even for casual flying, like throttle response just feels more alive. tinyhawk 3 is fine and the bind and fly package deal is hard to argue with if youre still on the spektrum/frsky fence.

out of the box tune on the crux3 was pretty decent, i changed the master multiplier a little and bumped d term slightly because it felt a bit loose on fast direction changes but nothing dramatic. tinyhawk needed more work imo, felt kinda sloppy in the mid throttle range until i sorted the filtering. neither one is gonna fly perfect stock if you have any taste for how a quad should feel but crux3 is closer.

for your use case id probably just get the crux3 and not think about it too hard

i have the tinyhawk 3 and the motors have been solid so far, like 6 months no issues. cant really compare to the crux but the indoor performance is great for me. only thing i'll say is the camera on the tinyhawk 3 is kinda meh in low light which might matter for your warehouse flying depending how dark it is in there
