so i've been taking my mini 3 pro on trips pretty regularly now and the foam insert case i got off amazon has been fine for protecting everything but every single time i go through TSA they pull it out and want to manually inspect the whole thing. i think its the way the batteries are packed in there with the drone that looks weird on the scanner. anyway i started wondering if anyone has switched to a different case setup specifically for flying with ? like do the pelican cases with the custom foam cutouts cause less issues or is it just gonna happen no matter what

also kind of related, does anyone use those landing pads? i've been landing on grass and gravel and im noticing some debris definitely gets kicked up into the gimbal area. was thinking about picking one up but the ones i see look kind of flimsy

the TSA thing happens to me pretty much every time too, doesn't matter what case i use honestly. i think its just the batteries ? they always want to look at lipo batteries in person. what helped me was separating the batteries into their own little lipo bag and keeping it in my personal item instead of the main case. ever since i started doing that the inspections go faster even if they still happen

on the landing pad question ? i have one of those foldable ones that rolls up into like a tube and honestly its way better than i expected. its not gonna survive someone stepping on it but for keeping rocks and grass out of the sensors and gimbal its great. i think i paid like 20 bucks for it and its been on probably 30 flights now with no issues

im pretty new to all this but i got a hard shell backpack style case for my air 2s and it fits in overhead bins which is the main thing i cared about. havent had the inspection issue yet but i only flew once with it so far. the landing pad thing though yes get one, my friend told me the same thing about debris and i got one before i even started flying regularly, seemed like a no-brainer
