been shooting video with my fpv build for about 8 months and someone in another thread mentioned nd filters and i kind of ignored it at the time but ive been watching my footage back and yeah the motion blur when i do fast passes is pretty rough. so now im looking into them and theres like a hundred different brands and sets and i genuinely dont know where to start. the polar pro ones look nice but they're expensive and i cant tell if im gonna notice a real difference or if this is one of those things where you spend the money and then go oh i couldve just fixed this in post

also for anyone running them on an fpv freestyle build specifically ? does the extra weight actually matter? feels like it shouldnt but im not sure

yeah they're worth it, not hype at all but also not magic. the thing people dont really explain well is that you still have to actually dial in your shutter speed to match the filter or youre just making things harder for yourself. the 180 degree shutter rule is the whole point and if you're not doing that already then yeah you'll notice a big difference once you understand it. i started with a cheap set just to see if i liked them before dropping money on polarpro and honestly the cheap ones were fine until i started caring about color accuracy across the set. if youre just starting out with filters i'd say get a budget set first

on the weight question for freestyle ? genuinely dont worry about it, a couple grams on the camera is nothing. i run them on my cinewhoops and even thats fine. the bigger thing for freestyle is making sure the filter is actually secure because ive had a cheap one work itself loose and i didnt notice until i landed and looked at the footage which was obviously useless. some of the budget filter mounts are kind of junk so check reviews on that specifically
