so ive been using litchi for like 3 years and honestly it does everything i need but a few people in my local club keep telling me to try dronelink and i just cant figure out if theres actually a meaningful difference for what i do or if theyre just hyped on the new thing

i mostly do mapping passes and some orbit shots for real estate stuff, nothing crazy. litchi has been rock solid for me on my mini 3 pro but i did have that one time it just dumped the mission halfway through and i lost like 20 minutes of flight time re-doing the grid. not sure if that was litchi or just a connection blip honestly

anyone who's actually used both for a while have an opinion? not looking for the youtube comparison videos, those all feel like sponsored garbage

switched about 8 months ago and havent looked back tbh. dronelink is just more flexible when you get into conditional actions and the way it handles altitude modes across different terrain is way better for anything that isnt totally flat. litchi always felt like i was fighting it a little on sloped sites

that said the learning curve is real. took me a solid weekend to stop being annoyed by the interface and actually understand how the mission structure works. if youre doing simple grid mapping and orbits and youre happy, i dont know that the switch is worth the friction

honestly i use both depending on what im doing. litchi for quick stuff where i already have the mission saved, dronelink when i need to do anything complicated. the terrain following in dronelink is the main thing for me
