Complete beginner here - what's the best first drone under $500? Need guidance

Hi everyone! I've never owned a drone before but really want to get into aerial photography and just having fun flying around. My budget is around $400-500 max and I keep seeing so many different recommendations online that I'm getting overwhelmed.

What should I prioritize for my first drone? Camera quality? Flight time? Safety features? I don't want to crash it on day one but also don't want to buy something I'll quickly outgrow.

Any specific models you'd recommend? I've been looking at the DJI Mini series but not sure which one.
