so my phantom 4 pro v2 finally died (well not died exactly but the gimbal is acting up and the repair quote was more than i expected so) and im looking at what to replace it with. ive had that thing for like 5 years and honestly it served me well but i feel like the industry has completely lapped it at this point.

im a real estate and construction guy, do a lot of inspection work and some mapping occasionally. looking seriously at the mavic 3 pro or possibly the autel evo lite+ because a buddy recommended it. someone else told me to look at the dji enterprise stuff but that feels like overkill for what i do and the price jump is significant. the phantom always felt rock solid in wind which matters because i work in some exposed coastal areas, wondering if the smaller form factor of these newer mavics actually holds up or if its just marketing.

not really a beginner question i just feel out of the loop after flying the same platform for so long

made almost this exact switch about a year ago, phantom 4 to mavic 3 classic. the wind performance honestly is not as different as i expected ? i was worried the smaller body would be a problem but dji has clearly tuned the flight controller well because it handles gusty conditions better than i thought it would. the phantom felt more planted but i think some of that was just familiarity. for real estate work the mavic 3 pro would be overkill unless you're doing high end stuff where the tele lenses actually add something, the regular mavic 3 or even the classic would cover you fine and save you some money

the autel i honestly cant speak to from experience, ive heard mixed things about the controller and software ecosystem but the camera hardware seems solid on paper. just heard some guys complain about firmware update cadence being slower than dji but that might have improved

not sure about the autel for inspection/mapping specifically ? the software integration side of things is where dji still has a pretty big advantage imo, stuff like third party app support and the way it plays with mapping platforms like DroneDeploy or Pix4D. if any of your clients ever ask for deliverables from those workflows it's just easier to stay in the dji ecosystem. that might not matter at all for your use case though
