Budget under $300 - which drone should I get as my first?

Hey everyone! Complete newbie here looking to get my first drone. My budget is around $300 max and I mainly want to take some photos/videos during hiking trips.

I keep seeing Holy Stone drones and the DJI Tello mentioned for beginners, but there are so many options it's overwhelming. Do I really need 4K or is HD good enough for learning? Any advice from people who've been in my shoes?

Also, do I need to worry about registration if I'm just flying recreationally in the mountains?
