so ive had my Mini 3 Pro for about a year and a half now and honestly love it, no real complaints. but i keep seeing the Mini 4 Pro pop up everywhere and my brain keeps telling me to upgrade even though i probably dont need to. the obstacle avoidance going from 3-direction to omni is kind of a big deal to me since i fly in tighter spots sometimes, woods and urban stuff mostly. but like... is that actually worth $400 more or whatever the price difference is right now. the 360 degree hyperlapse thing sounds cool too but i havent even used half the intelligent flight modes on my Mini 3 so im not sure thats a real argument for me personally. anyone made this jump and has actual thoughts on it, not just spec sheet stuff

made this exact jump around 6 months ago and honestly the omni obstacle avoidance is the real reason to do it if you fly in complex environments. i clipped a branch with my Mini 3 twice in low light situations and both times it was pretty gnarly. since switching to the 4 Pro i've had it save me at least 3 or 4 times in situations where i genuinely didn't see something coming. the image quality difference is real but subtle, like you'd have to pixel peep to really notice most of the time. if you shoot a lot in tight spaces i'd say yeah do it, but if you're mostly open field stuff then honestly keep your money and put it toward ND filters or a decent bag or something

i went from the mini 3 (non-pro actually) to the mini 4 pro and the differnce felt huge to me but i might not be the best comparison. the RC2 controller that comes bundled now is so much nicer than the older RC-N1 setup i was using before. battery life also feels noticeably better on the 4 pro in my experience, especially in any kind of wind
