been running a Nazgul5 v2 for about 8 months and overall its been fine but ive had two ESC issues and the frame cracked at the arm on my third real crash which wasnt even that bad of a hit. starting to wonder if its a material thing or just bad luck. a friend keeps pushing me toward Diatone and specifically the Roma F5 but i dont know anyone locally whos actually flown one so hard to get a real opinion.

the iFlight stuff is everywhere and thats partly why i bought it, figured parts would be easy to get. Diatone feels like a smaller community but the people who run it seem pretty die hard about it. anyone here switched between the two or run both at the same time and can give me an actual comparison? mostly care about frame durability and how the stock tune holds up, im on Betaflight obviously and i do my own tuning anyway but the baseline matters.

ran a Diatone MXC Deadcat for a while before moving to a custom build and the frame quality was noticeably better than the iFlight stuff i had before it. the carbon felt thicker and less brittle. never flew the Roma F5 specifically but the build quality across Diatone's lineup seems pretty consistent from what ive seen. the stock tune on the Diatone i had was actually not terrible, needed some filtering adjustments but the PIDs werent a total mess like some prebuilts.

the parts availability thing is real though, iFlight is just everywhere. if you're in the US and need a replacement arm next day Diatone can be a pain depending on where you source from. if you're cool ordering from overseas and waiting its fine. i wouldnt let that be the deciding factor honestly, the frame cracking that fast on an iFlight is a bit of a red flag, ive heard others say the same about that version of the Nazgul.

two ESC issues in 8 months is a lot, what stack are you running in it? cause i had a Nazgul and the stock Succex stack it came with was honestly not great, swapped to a Mamba and the thing flew completely differently. might be worth separating the frame question from the electronics question before you switch brands entirely. though if the arm cracked that quick that does sound like a material issue
