so ive been using Litchi for probably two years now and honestly its fine, does what i need, but ive been hearing a lot about Dronelink lately and curious if anyone has actually switched from one to the other and what the experience was like

my main use case is long linear surveys, power lines and roads mostly, so i need reliable waypoint following and decent gimbal control along the path. Litchi handles this ok but the mission hub interface feels kinda dated and ive had it glitch out on me a couple times mid-import which is annoying when youre trying to prep in the field

not really looking to spend another subscription fee if dronelink doesnt actually offer much more but if the mission editor is meaningfully better id consider it. running a mini 3 pro btw if that matters for compatibility

switched about 8 months ago and havent looked back honestly. the dronelink interface takes some getting used to, theres a learning curve especially around how it handles components vs a single waypoint list, but once it clicks its way more flexible. for linear surveys specifically the ability to define path behavior per-segment is genuinely useful

that said mini 3 pro support has had some quirks, i dont fly that bird but a buddy does and he said there were some gimbal pitch issues that took a couple firmware cycles to sort out. worth checking their compatibility notes before committing. pricing is annoying yeah but if you do this professionally its kind of a no-brainer

i tried dronelink for a month and went back to litchi lol. maybe its just me but i found the whole component system confusing for what should be a simple a-to-b survey. litchi just works and i know where everything is. might be different if you do more complex stuff i guess
