EVO II Pro keeps losing connection mid flight, happening to anyone else

  • Members

this has been bugging me for a while and im not sure if its a settings thing or something actually wrong with the unit. basically im out flying, usually maybe 400-600ft out, nothing that should be pushing the range at all, and the video feed just drops. the drone stays in the air and comes back fine when i trigger RTH but the feed goes out for like 10-20 seconds sometimes more. happens pretty consistently, doesnt seem to matter if its early morning or midday.

ive tried different locations thinking maybe it was interference but same deal. running the latest firmware i think, updated a couple months ago. controller is the smart controller that came with it. kinda at a loss here and its making me nervous to fly anywhere i actually care about because i dont trust the feed anymore.

check if theres wifi or other 2.4ghz interference around you. the EVO II stuff can be sensitive to that. also i had a weirdly similar thing and it turned out my controller antennas were not oriented right, sounds dumb but once i started positioning them properly (perpendicular to the drone basically) it got way more stable. also worth going into the app and checking which frequency band its using and try forcing it to 5.8ghz if youre not already, that helped me a ton in areas with a lot of wifi congestion.

mine did something similar after a firmware update actually. rolled back and the problem went away. not saying thats definitely your issue but if it started happening around the time you updated thats probably worth looking into. Autel's firmware rollback process is a little annoying to figure out but theres a thread on the Autel owners facebook group that walks through it step by step.
