ok so im pretty new to all this, got the mini 2 SE like 6 weeks ago and ive been watching a ton of youtube about cinematography and everyone keeps talking about ND filters and the 180 degree shutter rule and honestly my head is spinning. i get the concept i think but i dont know which ones to actually buy because there are like a million options at totally different price points and i cant tell if the cheap ones from amazon are going to ruin my footage or if the expensive ones are a waste of money for someone at my level.

im mostly shooting like family stuff, some hiking footage, just casual things. not doing anything professional. budget is probably under $40 if possible but id go higher if people say its genuinely worth it

honestly for casual use the freewell or k&f concept sets are totally fine, ive used both and the quality difference between those and the polar pro ones is real but you wont notice it in family videos shot at 1080p. the polar pros are more for people who are doing paid work and pixel peeping in post. just get a set with ND16, ND64 and maybe ND256 and youll cover most daylight situations.

one thing though ? make sure whatever you buy is specifically for the mini 2 SE and not just the regular mini 2, the lenses are slightly different and i made that mistake my first order and had to return them

tbh at your stage i wouldnt even stress about it too much. i flew for like 4 months before i bothered with NDs and my footage was fine. the 180 degree rule matters more when you start noticing the jello effect in your clips and start caring about motion blur looking natural. if youre just doing hiking and family stuff shoot in good light and learn the drone first, the filters can come later when you actually see a problem youre trying to fix
